Yha i know it's old to you guy's but it's my first mac ive owned. Since the late 80's.

Just got it in a trade and did a few minor upgrades to it.

DVD drive
Bigger hardrive
More ram (still need more if anyone has a thought on where to get a cheap 256mb pc100 i could use one more)

And ive now got it dual booting OS 9.2.2 and OSX 10.3.9

Feeling the mac love again!

Here's the odd part i need help with, i am unsure of it's actual cpu since it say's on the bottom of the casing it's a 300mhz but in OS9 even after multi install's (had trouble with the dual boot till i partioned correctly) it show's as a 450mhz but in OSX it show's only 300mhz??

Forgive me if this is in the wrong area i could not find one for classic mac's and no i cant just buy a newer one, i wish i could at the moment maybe in the future, i'll just relearn the path on the old guy here and get a new one in a few mons.

Thanks

I upgraded my RAM first, then the HD, because 10 GB was not much to work with, and finally I actually replaced my DVD drive with another battery when the drive broke.

The hard drive might be more important if you do not have a few gigs free after you everything you want installed. Running out of page file space can really cripple you, particularly since you will never have enough ram to not have more page outs.

Well they never made a 450MHz PBG3. Unless its had an upgrade. Tell us what ports are on the back and I'll tell you what model it is and the true speed. (More likely to be 300 I'm afraid). Or the serial number or family/model number.
