I second Cletus989's suggestion; the iFixit guides are fantastic, and pretty much indispensable if it's your first time inside an iBook. I recently installed a combo-drive in my Clamshell, and I can guarantee I'd have been up a creek without iFixit.

Probably the best thing you could possibly do is print out the screw guide and stick the screws to it as you're going through (I used double-sided tape--a rolled up piece would do just as well). Doing that will make the reassembly infinitely easier.

And I third that iFixit's guides are an excellent source.

When you're taking apart your iBook, make sure you have a good set of Torx drivers and what we call in the business a "black stick tool". Using a plastic non-conductive tool will help you from scratching the plastic when releasing the bottom case clips.

There are ALOT of small screws to keep track of. Use an ice cube tray or actually scotch tape the screws to their places on iFixit's screw guide to keep it all straight. Take extra care when working around taped connections and ribbon cables.

Just take your time and good luck!

Yes, the ifixit.com guide's a lifesaver - nice clear photos of the various stages and the screw guide is real handy if you find you've got a screw or two left over.

You can find 'spudgers' - the black stick tool - on eBay or I've used an old credit card - stiff enough to lever the case open and won't damage the plastic.

Just breathe deeply and take your time!

Yes! Yes! I admit it! I'm a MacBook Freak!
