I have a ibook G3 that when powered on does not make the chime sound and dispalys nothing on the screen. The hard drive does spin up and the caps lock and num lock keys do work. I have tried all of the pmu and pram reset stuff with no luck. I have also tried pushing on the graphics card for the logicboard problem. Has anyone ever seen or fixed something like this?

Thanks
Matt

They were notorious for the GPU coming loose. Will it display anything if you try to start in Target mode?

No nothing shows up in target disk mode... I also have tried to "flex" the graphics card to get it working but that still doesn't get anything (no chime or screen)

Unfortunately, you have diagnosed the problem. It most likely is the GPU.

I thought that I should still get a chim and I would be able to get target disk mode to work if it was the GPU?

The GPU is part of the motherboard of the iBook so. . . sounds FUBAR, unfortunately. At least you can take the hard drive out (in case you need data on it).
