I prefer either crucial or OWC.
I'm a big believer in that you get what you pay for and while I don't want to pay apple prices for thier memory. Crucial and OWC offer high quality ram with a lifetime guarantee and top notch support.

Yes no brainer, very easy. Just don't rush things or force the modules in place. Just take your time and everything will be fine..

Personally I'd max it out to 4 gig (provided you MB can handle 4gig). I think 2 gig, you'll see a nice bump in performance. Will it be huge, hard to say, since i don't know what your using it for. For me I found that my MBP swaps out a lot less with 4 gig. I found with 2 gig, running fusion, photoshop and/or Aperture the MBP did bog down a bit. Not so with 4 gig

In my experience, Crucial.com has been tops in the RAM upgrade department. I'm surprised to see that as of today, the same RAM I got for my new MacBook (2GB) is actually a few bucks cheaper over at OWC, where other computer parts have been way overpriced in the past (in my experience).

The 4GB set of RAM for a new MacBook is actually $30 bucks cheaper at OWC than it is at Crucial, which really surprised me. Looks like I'll start frequenting OWC a little more often.
-Core i5 MacBook Pro, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM; iBook G4 1.2GHz, 1.25GB RAM
-5G white iPod 30GB; original U2 iPod 20GB mono; now on 32GB Black iPhone 4
-...oh, and a PC too.

This should have gone in the RAM sticky. Consolidating knowledge is a good thing.

I've copied the relevant posts to that thread.
