So I crossed my g/f over to the mac side. What a joyous occasion.

One problem, I can't transfer files to her via bluetooth.

Odd fact: She can bluetooth me files just fine.

Error Message: When I try to bluetooth her a file, it says something to the extent of "The system you are sending to does not have the necessary files". That's not an exact quote, but pretty close to what it says.

Does the problem exist with my MB or he MBP (which is freaking awesome by the way)? As I said, she can bluetooth me files no prob.

Thanks guys.

Why in the world are you using Bluetooth to transfer files? At least use Wifi (802.11x) or ethernet or a flash drive or Firewire target disk mode, any of which is easier to setup and faster than BT. The only useful Bluetooth file transfer I've used is between my phone and my computer, not between computers.

I hear what you're saying. I dont use bluetooth normally for files. However, it was just one picture I wanted to give her right then and there for her background.

The point isn't which is better (I'll ask for help on that later), the point is, it should work, and I'm trying to discover why I cant transfer from my MB to her MBP.

no real ideas, but I do have a guess. Whenever I try to connect something via bluetooth, one device needs to 'find' the other. Make sure that her bluetooth is set to be discoverable, so that your laptop can find her machine when it goes looking.

Yeah, that's why I'm lost. Because it finds her laptop. She is discoverable. But then it says "device does not have necessary files". Very odd.

Just to make sure: do you have Bluetooth sharing turned on on both machines (Sharing preferences) and selected the folder(s) to browse?
