I bought this G4 when they 1st came out and have had no problems until about 2 weeks ago when I started noticing an intermiting buzz sound and a flicker in the screen.
It seems like there is some kind of short where the power cord goes in the back...
Is this a common problem with older Powerbooks?
Any ideas as to what is causing this...
Can I possibly fix this problem?
Thanks for any input...

*Possibly* your DC board is starting to go south.

Not such a terribly pricey repair, and not terribly uncommon, either (though not an "issue", either).

Thanks for your input. It looks like the board is about $50... and doesn't seem too hard to replace.
You stated that it is not an issue either. Does that mean that I should not worry until it gives up the ship and then replace it?
Thanks

I meant that this isn't something that happens all the time.

And mind you, this is just a brief, educated guess.

It's impossible to diagnose this kind of thing from across an ocean, sitting in front of an internet connection.

OK... I realize that it is just a brief, educated guess, and I am thankfull for your thoughts...
Let's say the board is the problem... should I change it out, or wait for it to quit working.
I think that is the problem and am willing to change it if necessary....
When I run on battery it doesn't happen as much...
When I push on the cable end, it will do the buzz thing every time...
Is there some way to check to see that the board is the problem?
Thank you for your help...
