Hi, I just picked up a new MBP, I don't know if this is a problem, or supposed to be some sort of an advantage, but the light sensor in the speaker grilles seems to be extremely sensitive, I am talking when I load up a web page thats mostly blank, the screen lights up to max, and then when the page loads, drops down to nothing again, or when my fingers are at either side of the keyboard, it gets extremely dark and when I move them to the center of the KB to type keys in the center, it gets really bright quickly. Is this a problem? or standard in the new MBPs? If it is, is there a software I can get that disables it? Because it's really annoying.

Thanks

That's odd that it's that sensitive. You can turn off the ambient lighting in the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences. I would call Apple too and let them know. See what they say. Congrats with the new purchase though!

Thanks, other than that, it's been going great, especially with the 8600m, it makes aperture so much smoother.
