Hi,

I have been researching about LCD monitors these days as my SONY screen died a few days ago. While reading about them I read that the cheaper LCD monitors have only 6-bits/colour than the regular 8-bits. So this made me wonder what kind of LCD panel my MBP has. Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks.

6-bit in all current and recent Mac laptops.

It is very unfortunate that they are all 6 bit (x3) right now, especially on the Pros. However, it is noteworthy that there some 6 bit panels that are better than others.

I think the current MB panels are not as good (grainier and smaller viewing angle) than previous MB (even of same update). So be sure to check them out to see if you'll be happy.

However, the ones in the current 15" MacBook *Pros* are the best ever used.
