Hypersensitive Trackpad - MacBook

Hi everyone. My MacBook was bought in October 2006, and over the past week or so its trackpad has been hypersensitive. By simply placing my finger on the trackpad, with almost no pressure at all, it starts clicking at an unbelievably rapid rate. It has made everything so difficult on my machine -- it's almost impossible to navigate. I've resorted to using Tab to move from link to link, and Return as an alternative to clicking.
I was thinking that perhaps dust and grime has collected under the trackpad, so maybe I should attempt to remove the trackpad and clean underneath. Any advice on how to do this?
Many thanks,
b.h.

Sorry, I should clarify -- it's the trackpad clicker, and not the trackpad itself that's the problem. I'm running Windows on my MB, so I can't click with the trackpad anyway. The issue is also on the Apple OS side.

Well... You can try to clean it, but it depends how good are you with disassembling...

Try resetting PRAM. This can often help with abnormal hardware behavior.

Thanks for the responses. So two questions: 1) how do I reset PRAM? and 2) how do I disassemble so that I can clean underneath the trackpad button?

first question: did you buy the extended applecare? If you did, that's the way to go, after first trying to reset the PRAM.
Here's some key combinations you need to know, PRAM is 3rd one down, usually recommended to go thru 4 or more startup chimes
