When does my warranty period start?

When does my warranty period start? I ordered the previous MBP from Amazon on 2/28/08 just after the new Feb. model was announced.

1. Is it when Amazon first got it?
2. When I ordered it?
3. When I register it?

I didn’t get AppleCare in case I have to return it. I intend to get it after a reasonable burn in period.

Definitely not from when Amazon got it. It's from the date of purchase.
