Hey
I've been trying to get a cheap Intel Mac Mini for a while now, to use as a media center. I don't want an apple tv. I want a real computer. But I won't use it every day so I want it cheap, but fast enough to play at least 720p H264. So I was looking for a 1.5GHz intel mac mini, but even those machines are going for $400+. Way too much. Plus for that much, i'd just throw in $200 more and get a dual 2GHz instead of a single 1.5GHz. Anyway, it occurred to me that A broken MacBook might be the prefect deal. I could put it on the shelf and you'd barely see it. By broken I mean cracked/dead screen. I also have a hard drive and RAM for it, so a really bare bones stripped MacBook would be great, Rev1 1.83ghz would be plenty of power.

So the point of all this, my question is, anyone know a good source for such broken macbooks? There are a few on ebay but they're prices are REALLY high.

I was going to say ebay for broken. You might be able to check craigslist too. Anything with the word MacBook in it is going to be high for what you are using it for.
