I went into system prefs and nothing in Sound is on mute, and the sound volume is maxed out. Any solutions?
Thanks

Is there a red light shining out?
I assume turning the volume up and down doesn't help, how about rebooting?

What spec. does your MacBook have and how old is it?

My wifes. I believe its about a 2ghz running 10.4. No red lights or anything. The sound hasn't worked in awhile, thus rebooting in this case is not the answer. I'm thinking it's a hardware issues. Hoping someone knows something to try to determine the problem.

Does anything happen with earphones plugged in?
How about if you plug and unplug them a few times?

Another thing to try is resetting the PRAM. You do this by holding cmd + option + p + r after the startup chime for another 3 chimes.

If none of this fixes it then you may have to visit Apple.

Resetting the PRAM worked perfectly. All is well. Thanks so much!
