Okay, I spilt around a HALF cc of sweet tea on the left speaker grille of my Macbook Pro. Of course, I freaked, and so I dried it up as quickly as I could. The tea never got into the keyboard, because I have an iSkin. I immediately shut down the computer.
I dried everything off and cleaned up the tea off the table. Around .5 ccs in sweet tea on left speaker grille. I then turned it back on, and just said screw it. If it's over, it's over. I have now been up for an hour, and the computer booted back up fine. I looked and found out the omni-directional microphone, ambient light sensor and I/O whatever is beneath that speaker grille. I also noticed that there is a black tinge under the speaker grille within the machine.
If it spilt in the left speaker grille, just a little bit, has it hit the motherboard at all? And if not, when will I see the malfunction of the machine? If it handn't been for my iSkin, I'd be buying a new computer, because the iSkin stopped the tea from getting into the keyboard area from the left speaker.
I would very much appreciate a comment on this. I know that when liquid hits electrical components, it's not good. However, the computer acts normal. The keyboard still lights up. It runs like nothing has happened. Also, I was hoping because those little tiny holes are so small that I might have lucked out. I would appreciate your comfort and tenderness during this time of great remorse. LOL Anyway, if anyone can give me some insight on the magnitude of a left-speaker grille tiny 1/2 cc spill of sweet tea, I'd appreciate it. Think I'll be okay? If she lasts two more years, I'll just buy another one.

It will be worth while turning it off, flipping it to the left and seeing if anything else comes out and leaving it off for a day or two to dry out with the battery and power unplugged.
The sugar may crystallize and create shorts within components if it has gotten inside anything but hopefully things will be fine, sounds like it *could* have been worse, but we don't know if we've seen the full effects yet.

Well, I'm online with it right now. lol Well, I guess I might be upgrading to that Macbook Pro 512 megs of video ram 2.5GHZ from the 2.4GHZ 256 megs of video ram sooner than I thought. Hopefully not. LOL

There is a mesh covering where the speaker grilles are that is attached to the top casing, that is what the black tinge is. Hopefully that mesh covering prevented too much tea from getting into any important components.

Well, I listened to the moderator. Thought I might just turn it off for a couple of hours and leave it unplugged. I did. I rebooted it hesitantly, and it still boots up fine and is still running like normal. Maybe that mesh covering over the left speaker grill saved me. If it's still running after this long and boots up fine, what does that say?

Ya'll should have saw my Mom try to suck every drop of moisture out of the left-speaker grille with her own mouth. It wasn't funny then, but now I can laugh. LOL Sit'n there sucking in on the speaker. Mama's touch! haha!
