I just received back my MBP (new screen) and there was no dead pixels in the screen, but when I got it back, it never slept, it would breathe for a second and start back up. So I would travel for 20 minutes thinking it was asleep and instead the screen was on and burning up in my bag. This being the source of the dead pixel?

Now the dead pixel isn't in the center, but it irks me that after I took my computer in, it no longer sleeps and when I went back in to get this fixed, they weren't able to fix it.

What to do?

When this is occuring do you have any USB devices hooked up to it. I have a scanner that prevents my my MBP from going to sleep mode.

As for the dead pixel, I cannot offer any advice, as I'm sure you know a single dead pixel is generally not enough to get a new machine, or your current one repared. Of course being that you had no dead pixels before you may be able to argue/plead/beg the apple dudes for a new one (display or MBP). I'd also bring it back for the reason of it not sleeping and have the fix that since they broke that functionality (provided its not a USB device)
