Hi everyone, been doing some iBook & PowerBook upgrades lately. Found out that the price for the newer MacBook & MacBook Pro superdrive cost 2-4 times more than the iBook & PowerBook. I wonder if there's any difference amongst them in term of physical connection. They should all use the same slim line IDE connector right? Unless there is SATA version.

So theoritically I can use a MacBook superdrive on a PowerBook G4 Alu and vice versa. Correct me if I'm wrong. And thanks for your reply in advance.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the SuperDrive's for MB and MBP are slimmer then the ones for PB or iBook.

Yes you're right, I've found the difference. One is 12.7mm, one is 9.5mm. Thanks!
