Hey, Just need abit of advice. Turned on macbook this morning to find this weird white/grey mark across screen, Turned it off and on again after a few min's and the mark was still there but only bigger and there was colours starting to show up around the edge of the mark. I have looked at screen and cant see any crack'/damage anyone got any ideas of what this could be? (Sorry if this post is not in correct place or if subject has been coverd before new to these forums)

Feel the surface of your screen. Is that area raised, depressed, or not aligned with the rest of the screen in any way?

When did you get your MacBook, and did you buy it new from Apple or a retailer or from eBay or similar?

That sure looks like a crack to me.

I got it from a friend so was not new and not sure how old.
Had a feel of screen cant feel anything, only thing i did notice was if i slightly press the sides around the screen it affects the mark across it E.G the two darker marks either side got bigger or coloured lines came up in different places
When touch bottom (or around bottom of screen) a light blueish pannel comes up at the bottom of the white part if that makes sense lol

Yeah, that screen is toast. It's cracked.

So would i be able to get the screen replaced? if so how much do things like that cost
