I have a relatively new MacBook (white combo). Today the screen went very dim. Tried the brightness button but no effect. Is there some obviously solution or do I need to call Apple?

Got an answer. Called the Apple service line. The good news is I had seven days left on my complimentary phone in service plan. The other news is I needed it. The woman had me try a few things, none of which worked (except to eliminate software as an issue), then said it's a logic board problem. She's shipping me a box. So problem is solved.
