I've got the previous MBP. A 15.4 in. 2.2 Ghz Core 2 Duo. The System Profiler for the USB BUS indicates:

Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad:

Version: 0.18
Bus Power (mA): 500
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Apple Computer
Product ID: 0x021a
Vendor ID: 0x05ac (Apple Computer, Inc.)

IR Receiver:

Version: 0.16
Bus Power (mA): 500
Speed: Up to 1.5 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Apple Computer, Inc.
Product ID: 0x8242
Vendor ID: 0x05ac (Apple Computer, Inc.)

I was trying to find out if the left and right USB connecters had the same power ratings. Can anyone help me out?

Each port can supply 2.5W (500mA @ 5+/-5%V).
