I want to upgrade my ram.

I know I am suppose to use PC-2700 DDR2 667MHz. However I can get PC-5300 DDR2 667MHz for cheap. Will this work for my powerbook 1.25?

No. A machine that old uses DDR, not DDR2. You want PC2700 DDR. I always check DealRam to make sure about RAM and find deals:

No, it won't even fit. The PC2700 you need is 333 "Mhz" (really MT/s), not 667. DDR is more expensive than DDR2; Newegg has 1GB from a decent brand for $39.
