Hey everyone,

I decided to post this thread here under hardware instead of software just because I think it may be a hardware problem. I've got a 15" MBP from 2007 (the ones that have the potentially messed up NVIDIA chips).

I've been opening PDF's of lecture slides and consistently notice these weird lines of distortion that are in all of my lecture slides (but they print out normally). I also notice that occasionally, some letters get jumbled up in preview, but if I scroll up, then back down, the jumbled letters fix themselves. The thin distorted lines do not go away regardless of what I do. (To help describe the distortion, it looks like one line of pixels going horizontally has been shifted or completely removed) There are about 5-10 of these 'lines' per slide. Any advice? Is this normal behaviour? And if not, is it something to do with the faulty graphics chips?

Thanks!!

That's not a faulty GPU issue. Sounds more like the usual quirks with OS X.
