apple out of warranty labor rates?

Does anyone know labor cost of changing motherboard/ internal parts on a macbook? Are they repaired locally or shipped back to apple?

A new logic board is ~$600-1000 (depends on model and maybe age) to have Apple replace it. Probably better off to sell it for parts and buy a new one.

Shipped back to Apple.

I second mduell... the cost of repair is high enough to justify getting a new computer.
