I put together a blog post of my first impressions with the MBA R2 1.86GHz w/128GB SSD. I did some gaming with WoW, some coding in Xcode, and more. In short this is an amazing machine. I'm migrating from a 17" MBP to the new MBA and was surprised just how well it held it's own against that machine. Check out the review:

nice review! thanks. one question: can the MBA v.2 drive the new cinema display at full 1920 x 1200 resolution? and smoothly?

i cannot stomach the new MB screens, but like the portability of the 13" form factor.

so one thing you didn't mention: how is life without built-in superdrive??

Why not?
Even the first-gen Air could. The AirBook can, like the MacBook, drive even the 30" ACD:

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Any comment on the 1.6GHz MBA?
I'm (over)due to replace my trustworthy PBG4 1.33GHz (5 years and still going!), and am thorn between an apparently very fast new MacBook or a much more portable Air.

I have a fast iMac at the office, so this is definitely a home machine, but I am having a hard time figuring if the extra portability is worth the financial and performance tradeback... My budget does not really allow for the top of the line MBA.
