Here is the deal, I have a Mac Book Pro and it recently has stopped working. Well stopped working half way. When it boots up it gives me the mac screen of death. But A fellow mac follower at my school helped me with it and we got it to boot up into target mode. Any ideas? I would like my baby back!

A couple of options:

1. Back up the MBP while in Target DIsk Mode. Then, erase the HDD and re-install OS X. Copy the backed-up files back.

2. Have you tried running Apple Hardware Test from your original OS X disc? Turn the MBP on, insert the disc as soon as it let you, and then hold down the D key. You will probably want to check the box "Perform extended testing."

Have you installed 3rd party memory? Remove all 3rd party memory you've installed.

Boot to startup manager holding down the option key after boot. Insert your grey DVD disk 1 into the optical drive, does it mount? Do you also see your Macintosh HD? Toggle the manager to the DVD and boot from it.

If you're getting Kernel Panics (KPs) during startup that means code is becoming corrupted between the logic board and the memory. If these quick fixes don't work, have an Apple Service Provider run Apple Service Diagnostic on it to further test the hardware and make sure all you're dealing with is software or memory corruption.
