Hi everybody.
I have a White MacBook (CD, 2ghz, Leopard) that suddenly stopped working one day. No recent changes were made, and it didn't suffer any physical damage.
When I tried to boot it up, it would get to the grey screen and stay there indefinitely. Through troubleshooting I think I have figured out that one of the ram slots is bad (both RAM sticks work fine in one of the slots, neither ram stick works at all in the other slot).
Two questions:
1. Any idea of how likely it is to fix the other ram slot? Any ideas how?
2. My MacBook only has 1gig of ram now (I previously had two 1gig sticks). My computer is considerably slower now with only 1gig of ram (especially since I need to run windows through vmware a lot). Does anyone know if this MacBook (2ghz CD, about 2.5 years old now) can take a single 2gb ram stick?
Thanks for your help!
