So me and my boyfriend's anniversary I plan on stealing his Macbook and outfitting it with a new case and memory. The only problem with this brilliant plan is that I have no idea what generation he has. All I have to go on is it's white and a older generation than my aluminum one (obviously).

So how do I find out what generation he has? Is there a program I need to run on it or specs I need to dig up? I'm trying to be as stealthy as possible here, so whatever it is can't take too long.

All the Macbooks use the same memory, with the exception that the oldest Core Duo equipped Macbooks can only use 2GB of RAM while some interim ones will use 3GB, and the later ones can use 4GB.
The white cases are all the same with the exception of the minor details listed in Apple's document above, but those won't affect any cases.

The MBPs had been updated a while ago already. I just updated the MBs.
