Hey im confused, when I bought my macbook pro its model a1150 2ghz 2gb ram 80gb hd ati 128mb ram, superdrive,

So anyways its a older one, The dvd drive went out its model uj-857-c now I thought when I bought this thing my drive was a 4x speed, everyone on ebay is saying the uj-857-c is a 8x what gives, Im confused I need to buy a new one and want to get a 8x one, if the original is 8x then I can get a used one for 45.00 picked up tommorow, through a guy on ebay, Im gonna pick it up at his shop

It's an 8x DVD drive. In the case of this drive that means

• it reads DVDs at 8x
• it writes to DVD-R and DVD-RW at 4x
• it reads CDs at 24x
• it writes to CD-Rs at 24x
• it writes to CD-RWs at 10x
