Hey Guys,
I've got friend who just bought his first mac and (of course) immediately has a problem that hasnt been fixed by me or mac tech support so far. He has new unibody macbook 2.0 ghz with 10.5.6, stock 2gb ram, everything updated. When the computer is first started up screen appears very washed out- almost like its 8 bit or something. This persists despite all attempts to change video color, resolution etc. I plugged in an external monitor and it fixed it (or so I thought) until the next restart- then it was back. I did restarts and reset pram. No luck. Apple had him archive reinstall the OS. No Help. Plugging in an external monitor will still fix until next restart (sleep isnt a problem). Any ideas?
thanks in advance!
Jon
ps I have a screen shot of the start up screen if anyone is interested

Washed out? Do you mean it's at a lower resolution? I think we'd need to see that picture. Are any of the "Universal Access" preferences turned on?

Be glad to send the screen shot- how do I post it/email to you?

Wow- this is interesting....when I looked at the screenshot that I took on his computer with grab- it was normal on my computer...I guess the computer "thinks" it is displaying normally. I will have try to describe from memory: definitely normal resolution but colors did not appear normal- were more cartoon-like and "harsh".
