I know that the new MBP will have a permanent/semi-permanent battery with it, however will I be able to access the Hard Drive and Ram slots?

I have had a few Hard drives fail in my last few Mac laptops and like the fact that I can replace them myself with DIY Warranty Service.

It will most likely be user replaceable similarly to the unibody 17" MacBook Pro. MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2009) How to install a replacement hard drive.

I had been wondering the same thing and I just looked Apple's website and found the user manuals for the new MacBook Pro's. The one for the 13" can be found here:

And according to that, yea, it is user replaceable.

Sweet. That settles it. I'll get the 13" MacBook Pro with the smallest drive available. It's sufficient for me now, but I can always upgrade later if necessary.
