Lately, I've been noticing my fans a lot more than I remember on my late 2007 2.33 GHZ MBP. Granted, I can understand my fans revving up when doing something in Parallels or running Flash of some sort, but even in idle I think my fans are running too much. I downloaded Temperature Monitor and smcFanControl to monitor this. smcFanControl is cool, but it doesn't seem to report what the relationship between fan speed and temperature is based on Apple's default settings. In other words, why are my fans running at about 4000 rpm when sitting at idle? Here are numbers from Temp Monitor in degrees C sitting at idle. Maybe someone can tell me if I should take a look at my heatsinks (why is there no copy and paste in Temp monitor?):
CPU A temp diode: 66
CPU core 1: 71
core 2: 70
enclosure bottomside: 32
GPC 1: 55
GP heatsink 1: 59
main heatsink 1: 55
main heatsink 2: 45
mem controller: 50
mem sensor 1: 59
HDD: 41
Is my CPU too high even at idle?
Thanks,
Steve
