I have a Titanium Powerbook G4 400Mhz. A while back, I closed the cover without properly shutting it down. It stayed in this state for two days as it was the weekend and I left the unit at work. Since this happened, I can only start it up by pressing the power button, then pressing the restart button on the back, then finally, pressing the power button again. I've run disk utilities to repair permissions and fix the disk but it indicates there isn't a problem. Disk Warrior also turns up nothing. Everything else seems to work fine (except I have to reset the clock and date each time I use the restart button - which I think would be normal?) Someone please help. You should really take it in to get look at. It sounds like you only put the computer to sleep by closing the lid which shouldn't cause your problem in normal usage. I have a PowerBook G4 too and I always close the lid and put it to sleep. If it's a sleep then leaving it like that for the weekend shouldn't have done any harm to it. It sounds like you closing the cover was a trigger for some other problem that was overlooked until now. Just take it in to get it checked out. I don't think there is much that forum members can do for you.
