I have a 2.33ghz Macbook Pro 15" from a couple years ago and after installing Snow Leopard, when i go to battery power it will shut itself off between 80 and 90% battery life remaining.

i would think that if this was a hardware issue that it would be repeatable while running on a power supply, but it has never done it while plugged in. On the other hand, it seems to be some type of hardware issue or boot rom issue because it did while in Boot Camp tonight.

If it is the battery, I would be seriously irritated as I have already bought a new battery and this one only has 60 cycles on it and the old one went in the crapper after about 100 to 120 cycles.

I tried an archive and install again to see if it was something in the operating system and it still does it. This is definitely a problem that has come up after installing snow leopard. I started with Tiger and no issues and upgraded to Leopard with no issue ever and a day after installing Snow Leopard this starts happening. I really do appreciate any light you could shed on this for me since I am constantly in the field with my work and having my laptop crap on me after 10 minutes is really killing me. I have had to swap a lot of files over to my Blackberry just so I can get some of my spreadsheets done as I go and my reports done as I go.

Thank you all in advance for any help.

Apple stores (and service providers) have a very quick and efficient battery test they can perform on your machine. Should only take a few minutes to verify the health of the battery. I would start there.
