Video input from another computer

Hi,
I have a Macbook Pro 17". Is is possible to get video input into the macbook from another computer? The monitor screen in my office is crap and I want to direct the video output from the office computer into my Macbook Pro's screen. Is that possible? I'm not allowed to connect my personal macbook to the office network.

You need a video input device, such as those from elgato, like eyeTV.

If you have a secondary network interface on your work machine you might be able to network your MacBook and work machine on a private network and then run VNC or Remote Desktop to share the desktop, this way you are not technically connecting your mac book to the corporate network.

The only Mac I know of that supports this feature is the new 27" imac. It would be nice if the other models could do this as well.

Be prepared for a nice lag when moving the mosue and typing. I wouldn't recommend this for serious, ongoing work.
