Hi all,
my MacBook's DVD is not responding.
I performed the Hardware Test and I get the following error:
4SNS/1/40000000: TCOD-101.000
What does this error mean?
thx

Believe it or not, odd stuff like this error message are great fodder for Google; I found an Apple Support Forums discussion of the subject as the first Google hit on it. The error relates to an overtemp condition where the fans aren't running or not running fast enough. Unfortunately it looks like this error isn't directly related to your DVD not responding-or does it? It could be that the machine is not allowing the DVD to run because it's overheated.

Set up an appointment to see a Genius at your nearest Apple Store and have them test the machine; they should be able to fix the fan/temp problem. And make sure you tell them that you did the hardware test because the machine wouldn't run DVDs.

Oh, and welcome to our forums!

Hey, thx for the quick response!
I've found the same post myself. But I didn't find the exact same error code.
Anyway, the worse thing is that is not related to the DVD. Now, after PRAM reset is not even accepting the media. It doesn't even go in!
Mouse is also acting funny... not responding at all clics. Found a post that says the solution is a piece of paper under the touchpad. How is that sounding to Steve Jobs??
More bad news. I bought the laptop in NY and I life in Brazil.
Cheers
T
