Hi All,

I'm going to be resurrecting an old Tibook, and I want to max its RAM (by dropping in two 512MB modules).

I've used Crucial's site to find this:

512MB, 144-pin SODIMM, SDRAM, PC133 upgrades for Apple PowerBook G4 400MHz (Titanium) Laptop/Notebook, CT217594 from Crucial.com

The situation is complicated because I'm also going to be buying a new drive for my desktop machine, and the site that I'm using also sells a RAM module which has what seems to be the same specs as the one from Crucial above (it's even sourced from Crucial):

Crucial 512MB PC133 144pin SODIMM Memory Module For Notebooks - Ebuyer

What bothers me is that the photo is different (the slot is in a different place). I know that sometimes companies use generic photos for some classes of products, so I'm hoping that that is the case here. I'd hate to buy two of the wrong modules.

I'd like to buy from one source for a number of reasons (to save on shipping, it's more convenient to receive one package instead of two, and the ebuyer version is a bit less expensive).

Can anyone speak definitively on whether or not these are the same RAM module?

Many thanks for any insight,

Chas

They're the same. The ebuyer photo is wrong. The slot should be closer to the center for 144 pin SO-DIMMs:
