This worked before I changed the LCD, the computer goes to sleep if I select it from the apple, and stays asleep when I close the display. But if i close the lid it just stays on, I have tried resetting the SMC controller or whatever it's called.

Any ideas?

what mac. On MacBooks its a small magnet under the bezel which is easy to misplace when changing the lcd. No magnet, no sleep.

Left hand side of the display (as you look at it) about 1/2 way up. It's a rectangular shaped magnet with one end slightly rounded off.

Sorry the pictures are so bad, I found the magnet off the old display, thank god I didn't throw it away. It's on the left side when looking at the white part behind it, but I'm not sure where it should be height wise, half way still?

Thanks, Jesse

damnit, now the new screen is really really dim so you can barely see it, I'm gonna be working all night taking this thing apart for like the 5th time.
