I have three essays due before Monday and my MBP won't power on anymore.

Background: I spilled water on it a week ago, and immediately wiped it off. Immediately thereafter, I realized left, right arrow and left shift keys did not work. Little did I know that my power button was affected also. I've been keeping my computer on since then, and yesterday I left it without the charger. Battery obviously ran out, but after charging the laptop, I still can't turn it on...it's definitely the power button.

I'm looking for an alternative way to power on my MBP.

Please help! I'll seriously send you a check if you don't have paypal, I really need to fix my computer.

We have an extensive sticky on that subject.
What baffles me is that you kept your notebook on after the spillage occurred! Why haven't you yanked the battery and left it to dry for at least (!) 24 hours? In all likelihood, your motherboard is now toast. Even if initially the motherboard is not damaged, the moisture will damage other electronics.

The good news is that your data is probably alright. That won't help you with your three papers (and it doesn't sound as if you have a backup!?!), but at least you will not lose too much work. You should definitely use Time Machine for automated backups!
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

We can't really help, you at least need a new top case, if you haven't damaged anything else.
