Does anyone know if the battery is covered under the one year warranty on refurbished MacBooks? I bought mine about ten months ago and the battery status is telling me "Service Battery".

Why don't you call Apple and ask ?

The Standard 1 Year Warranty sort of excludes batteries:

"This warranty does not apply: (a) to consumable parts, such as batteries, unless damage has occurred due to
a defect in materials or workmanship"

However, you might wanna make the case that the battery has a "defect in materials or workmanship", since it should have lasted much longer.

Call Apple, explain, and be nice. Many manage to get free replacement batteries. In some cases even after warranty has run out. I got a free replacement after 15 months without having bought AppleCare.

300 cycles is usually when they will seise to give you a replacement!
