I have a 15in MBP model late 2008 but I have the chance to swap it for a one week old MBP mid 2009.
The only diffs that I can see are the new MBP lacks the high performance video card (it's the base model with only the shared graphics). The newer machine is a 2.53 while my old one is a 2.66. Both have 4GB RAM and 300GB drives.
So should I swap or is the older machine a better bet still with it's marginal speed advantage and better graphics of get the newer one?
The newer one has a better battery I guess plus an SD card slot. Plus it's newer.
What kind of battery life do you get on your late 2008 15"?
two hours if I'm lucky. tbh I never switch the high power graphics on the machine on. Day to day the built in is fine and even using Photoshop etc it's not really the card that's an issue.
The battery life does annoy me though. It's always been poor. The new one gets a good four and a half hours. It does seem a tad slower though. I guess internally it's more of a 15in MacBook than a fully fledged Pro.
