Hi there, I recently purchases a MacBook Pro from the Apple Refurbished Store as I saw this Macbook Pro for sale on 29% and it was rather compulsive for me to buy it seeing it was on so much sale.

However, I would like to know if anyone knows the basis/truthfulness of this percented discount they put on? Because there are also refrub ones which do not state how much off the original price it is from so how does it actually work/calculated?

And the specs i got are below for the price of 1,199 Pounds and just wondering if you guys think its worth it and truly 29% off? And comparitively to the new i5 ones, is it as good?

Any comments would be great as I'm not that good with computers. If not, I would be able to return it.

The refurb section contains current-generation models at refurbished prices. The discount % noted is based off of the price for new models. Refurbs are a good deal. Apple does great work to make them new for all intents and purposes, including warranty, but can't resell them as such, hence the discount. I've bought a number of refurbs over the years and they are indistinguishable from the new models except for the hundreds of dollars I've saved.

The refurb section contains current and previous generation models and all markdowns are relative to the original price.
If 2.66Ghz was $2000 one generation, $1700 the next, and $1400 currently, they'd mark a first-generation 2.66Ghz model at $1200 as 40% off.

The price is ok (about US$1500 pre-VAT), but it doesn't compare well with the current i5 models.
