are the older 85w magsafe MBP adapters the same as the new 85w adapters? the connection on the computer side looks different although seems to be interchangeable.
i have a spare adapter of the older style integrated in my DJ rig that i used to use with an older 15" MBP and i'm hoping i won't have to buy a whole new power adapter to run my new 17" MBP.
thanks!

Exactly the same. I'm using my older adaptor with my brand new i7 15" with no problems.

We've seen some instances where the *new* style adapter refuses to work with non-unibody machines... But it's not ALL non-unibodies... We're trying to find a pattern. (The old style adapters work with everything.)
