I thought this would be a drag and drop affair, but apparently I was mistaken. I have the last of the G4 Powerbooks (1.67). I recently did a clean reformat of the hard drive. I used my iPod classic as a hard drive and saved all my files and such to it (I have very little). I have many important e-mails saved on the ipod that I cannot get back onto my Powerbook. They appear as Mail icons (the postage stamp icon) and are labeled as such: 11544.emlx, 11546.emlx, etc. If I click them Mail will open and the e-mail will open and render it correctly. So, they are all useable but I cannot find anything because they all appear as numeric files like I listed before.

As you can tell I'm not very proficient in this stuff. I could really use some pointers as to how to get these .emlx files recognized and back into my mailboxes.

Appreciate any help!

Carl

You should have backed up the .mbox files, not saved the individual emails.

See this post on macosx.com forums: macosx.com - View Single Post - Mail email import .emlx files
