Yep, my friend stuck a 3 (or 3.5) inches disk in her MacBook (1999), and she can't get it out.
Now what...
Thanks.

I've had success shaking them out. Just hold it so the slot is pointing down and try and shake it out.
(Please be sure the computer is off, and if you drop it I'm not responsible)
If that doesn't work, the only other way is to remove the drive and take it apart.

Heh.. I only saw 'macbook' and blew right by the year. I thought the tray loaders had no issues with the 3" disks.

Memorex used to make a "Pocket mini CD adapter" 80mm to 120mm CD adapter, but they've since stopped making them.
Hunt around, you might be able to find a pack. Would be handy for the occasional mini CD.

Those adapters are not something I'd ever consider sticking in a slot-loader, and I'm pretty sure they were built to adapt mini-CDs to those early cd player trays that didn't have depressions in the middle that singles could fit into.

If it's a slot loading drive... one of the many "tricks" we used at the "bar"... was to put some tape into the slot, stick it onto the stuck media, and pull it out. We had an advantage because we had strips of tape that were fairly stiff. The alternative is to use something flat and thin.. like an aluminum ruler, with tape around it lengthwise (so the tape doesn't get stuck in there too!). Maybe cut a strip of cardboard?

I'm not sure it would help, I find that even some double sided discs get stuck.
