Hey everyone, I am not sure about the etiquette on this site but I have a question/request. I have in my possession an Apple Powerbook 230 Duo in brand new condition. I have all of the system disks and drives for it. I also still have the original manuals and even the receipt from when it was purchased. Is anyone interested in buying this? I am aware that it is somewhat of a collector's item but I don't trust anyone to buy it on craislist or ebay. I hope this is okay for me to ask this.

Welcome to MacNN! We have a Marketplace which would be the perfect place to offer this PowerBook for sale. I'll PM a mod to have them move your thread for you. The only caveat is that you must state an asking price. Good luck with the sale!

We limit offers made in the Marketplace to members who have a track record. You need to have 100 posts (and not "+1" or "me too" posts either) to establish yourself. On the other hand, this IS a good place to find out what our members think your computer is worth. We have some pretty seriously experienced folks here, and you can expect to get some really solid advice.

Welcome to our forums!

It's a pretty rare item to be brand new with all corresponding paperwork. Perhaps, if the OP can provide detailed pictures it might be worth an exception to bend the rules for what he/she is offering. Just a thought.

With something like that I think you'd want to get the widest audience possible--eBay.

You might want to track down a collector through someone like powerbookguy.com and see what they will offer you.

Ebay is risky, but it might be the best way. I'd see if I could find a boutique sale first. PBG is straight-up.
He can be fixed -- you can't.
