Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker for a while and I've finally decided to post something. I recently bought a 17" Unibody MBP and noticed horizontal lines present on the center of my trackpad. Each of the five lines are about an inch long.

Here's as good of a picture as I can get of it (you'll see a bright patch in the middle, with three darker horizontal lines):

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to why this is happening.

I've owned at 15" Unibody as well as a 1st and 2nd edition Macbook Pro's and none of the three have had this 'issue'. If anything, it's a minor blemish that I'll forget about.... I'm just pretty annoyed by it considering I've only had this machine for 2 week and 2 days (yeah, no chance of exchanging it).

I don't know what to tell you. Best bet is to ask at an Apple store, they are most likely to have seen it before and will tell you if they are happy to replace the trackpad or not. There is a chance they will simply claim that someone has been using it whilst wearing a ring or something though.
