I've sort of lost track of what the proper term for various newer notebooks would be. For example, my wife's MacBook has an aluminum case and an accessible battery-it's the last production model before the inaccessible-battery unibody versions. So what's the common term for this version of the MacBook?

"Aluminum MacBook."

It's the only one. The next generation of alu 13" MacBooks was the 13" MacBook Pro.
