I have a brand-new MacBook Pro (mid-2010) with the high-res antiglare screen. I was using it at home in closed-clamshell mode with a 23" Apple Cinema Display, put it to sleep, and when I later woke it up (at work), the display looked like this:

I checked the ColorSync profile while this was happening, and it was fine. Putting the MBP to sleep and waking it again didn't help the problem. Rebooting fixed the problem.

Is this indicative of video problems?

That's not just watched out. That looks like an issue with the green and red signaling. It could be a problem with the display cable or the GPU itself. If it keeps happening, I'd take it in.

If it were to happen again, I might try going into System Preferences, going to the Display section and clicking Detect Displays to see if that might "reset" your computer's display.

Pretty much all my Santa Rosa MBP's graphical abnormalities happen as a result of plugging in or unplugging my external monitor.

I wouldn't worry unless it starts happening often.
