I took a bit of a gamble on an ebay logic board for my powerbook 17" 1.33 laptop. All installed well or so I thought - now batteries will not charge, they don't drop their charge, providing it's plugged in with the mains adapter but the battery status is always on "not charging". Here's what I've tried;
* resetting the PMU
* a different battery that I know is good
* a different adaptor that I know is good
* a quick Apple hardware test - everything passed

Prior to the logic board install I wasn't confident on the thermal paste areas and I ended up cleaning (Articlean/purifier) and applying Arctic Silver 5 paste to the CPU, the power management unit (he black square on this board PMU (Power Management Unit) board (Titanium)) and the GPU. I think this was OK but I mention it here in case it's relevant to this problem.

It's definitely not the adaptor or the batteries and because the light on the adaptor comes on and the machine will run on mains power I imagine it's not the DC-In board. Could it be the PMU? in which case the logic board.

I'll open it up later and check the cables are properly seated meanwhile comments appreciated.

Thanks
