I noticed a similar posting and thread from Oct 2009, but it never seemed to be resolved. I have replaced a broken display screen on a 2006 MBP 2.33 Dual Core with a Phillips LCD, told by the seller that it was the correct screen. Following instructions found on the internet, I replaced the screen, which was fairly simple. Just 3 connections and a lot of little screws. Now the screen works, but it shows 4 separate desktops in the four quadrants of the display, 1 desktop per quadrant. Connecting the laptop to an external monitor shows the correct display. I'm new to MAC's but on a PC, I would at least attempt to look at the BIOS settings and see if something there needs to be changed. Does anyone have any suggestions? The seller has offered to send me another display with a different part number, so I wonder if the seller is beginning to think the one already sent may have been a missmatch. Before doing that, I'd like to determine if there is a setting that needs to be changed in order to make this work.

Sounds like a mismatch or a faulty panel to me. Outside chance the LVDS cable got damaged during install but my bet is its the wrong panel. Odd, most of them are pretty interchangeable these days.

I have a ThinkPad T42 with the same issue.
