lately the screen on my macbook pro 15" (late 2008) has been blinking intermittently. i have never noticed this before, but it has been happening regularly over the last 2 days. i have a 2.4G late 2008 MBP, core 2 duo, running OS 10.5.8.

any ideas?

Bad connection to the display backlight.
The low-end Mac Pro is the most overpriced Mac since the IIvx

It's an issue with the nvidia graphics cards. Switching to the other card will fix it. You'll need to contact Apple about it. It's a known issue but they are currently pretending that it's acceptable behaviour in a premium laptop.

You should be able to get a fix from them.
