To any owner of the new MBP: are USB3 drives going to run at their increased speed, even if it was not promised by Apple?

Is the chipset USB3 capable?

Is thunderbolt a Mac exclusive?

As I understand it, Thunderbolt is capable of becoming just about anything provided an adapter is available. Which, AFAIK, none are at the moment.

And Thunderbolt is Mac exclusive for the moment. But it's Intel tech and will probably be available in nearly every PC on the market by this time next year.

And you can only run USB3 devices on current MBPs at USB2 speeds. The chipset does not support USB3, and with Thunderbolt, it may never in an MBP.
